12th Indian Southern Ocean Expedition Successfully Completed

The 12th Indian Scientific Expedition to the Southern Ocean (12 ISSO) was launched in February 2025 aboard the research vessel S.A. Agulhas from Port Louis, Mauritius, and concluded in March 2025 (Figure 1). With 42 members from 11 Indian institutions, , the team conducted multidisciplinary research, including deployed Argo floats, XCTDs, etc and studied deep-sea processes and biogeochemistry in the Southern Ocean, enhancing understanding of its role in climate change.
