R/V Xuelong 2 Makes First Visit to Thailand
From May 19th to 23th, Chinese icebreaker R/V Xuelong 2, conducted a five-day visit to Thailand, including public open activities.
On May 20th , The Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand attended a welcoming ceremony and boarded the Research Vessel to tour facilities such as the bridge, laboratories, cabins, and the medical clinic. Princess Sirindhorn highly praised CHINARE remarkable achievements in polar research and the scientific collaboration outcomes over the past 12 years through the Princess Sirindhorn Thai-Chinese Joint Laboratory for Antarctic Research. She expressed gratitude to China for arranging Thai scientists’ participation in Chinese polar expeditions, and she also hoped that both sides would further deepen exchanges and cooperation in fields such as science, technology, and talent cultivation based on the 50th anniversary of bi-lateral diplomatic relations.
