The 58th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition is ongoing.

There are 8 members in this team: 3 Asian geologists Davaa-Ochir DASHBAATAR (Mongolian University of Science and Technology, Mongolia), Nugroho Imam SETIAWAN (Gadjah Mada Univerisity, Indonesia) and Prayath NANTASIN (Kasetsart University, Thailand), 4 Japanese geologists and Professor Yoichi Motoyoshi as the team leader.

They conducted geological surveys on Antarctic bedrocks. The field operation was quite successful, and we strongly believe that the activity this time can be a great step-forward for AFoPS in Antarctica with respect to Asian collaboration.

The photos were taken by Suo TAKEKUMA in "Skallevikshalsen" in Lutzow-Holm Bay, Antarctica.
